Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Chicken (or ground turkey/tofu)
- 1 package Wonton Wrappers (cut into wide strips)
- 1/2 cup Scallions (freshly chopped)
- 3 tbsp Soy Sauce (tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger (finely grated)
- 2 cloves Garlic (finely minced)
- 2 cups Chicken Broth
Instructions
- Combine ground chicken, half of the chopped scallions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix ingredients thoroughly until sticky and well-incorporated, then shape into small, bite-sized portions.
- Heat a wide skillet over medium-high heat with a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.
- Layer wonton strips with prepared chicken filling into the pan.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan and cover immediately with a tight-fitting lid to steam.
- Simmer for approximately eight minutes until chicken is fully cooked through and wrappers are soft.
- Remove lid and allow excess liquid to reduce slightly, intensifying the savory sauce before serving.
Notes
Use fresh ginger and garlic to provide a vibrant kick. Maintain a gentle simmer rather than a rapid boil to prevent wrappers from breaking apart. Add a tablespoon of chili oil after cooking for extra heat. Allow the mixture to rest for two minutes off the heat so the sauce thickens and adheres to the wrappers.
