Ingredients
Scale
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil, such as vegetable, canola, or coconut oil
- 3 tablespoons milk, dairy or non-dairy
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Measure the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt into a microwave-safe mug.
- Stir the dry ingredients thoroughly with a small spoon or fork, breaking up any cocoa powder lumps.
- Create a small well in the center of the dry ingredients.
- Pour the neutral oil, milk, and vanilla extract into the mug.
- Stir vigorously for about 30 seconds until the batter is smooth with no visible flour streaks.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and distribute them evenly throughout the batter.
- Microwave the mug on high power for 90 to 120 seconds.
- Check at 90 seconds to gauge doneness.
- Remove from the microwave when the edges look set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
- Allow the mug dessert to cool for 1 to 2 minutes before eating.
- Serve warm and enjoy directly from the mug.
Notes
Use a 12-ounce microwave-safe mug to prevent overflow. Start checking at 90 seconds because microwave wattage varies. The center should stay slightly jiggly for the best fudgy texture.
