Ingredients
- 1/4 teaspoon pure food-grade baking soda
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, from about 1 lemon
- 8 ounces filtered water, room temperature or warm
- 1 teaspoon raw honey, optional
- 1 small pinch sea salt
Instructions
- Measure 8 ounces of filtered water into a clear glass.
- Cut one fresh lemon in half and squeeze enough juice to make 2 tablespoons.
- Strain the lemon juice to remove pulp and seeds.
- Add the lemon juice to the water and stir for 10 seconds.
- Add the raw honey if using and stir until dissolved.
- Measure exactly 1/4 teaspoon of pure food-grade baking soda.
- Add the baking soda slowly while stirring continuously.
- Let the mixture fizz and bubble as the baking soda reacts with the lemon juice.
- Continue stirring for 30 seconds until the fizzing calms down.
- Add a small pinch of sea salt and stir for another 10 seconds.
- Drink immediately while fresh and fizzy.
Notes
Use only pure food-grade baking soda, not baking powder. Do not exceed 1/4 teaspoon per serving. Drink immediately after mixing and avoid preparing this recipe in advance. Anyone with kidney issues, high blood pressure, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or medication concerns should speak with a healthcare provider before using this drink regularly.
